FAQ

PILLOWS

Q. Why do I need a mattress and pillow protector?

A. Mattress and pillow protectors can extend the life of your mattress and pillow by protecting them against staining and excessive wear.

Q. How often should I replace my Bedding?

Pillows: Every 12-18 months.
Quilts: Every 2-5 years, taking into account the quality and fill type, as some fibres are traditionally longer wearing.

Q. Can I wash my pillow?

A. Yes although you need to carefully follow the care instructions on the product as requirements will vary depending on fabric and fill type. This will ensure you will get the best in both comfort and durability from your bedding accessories.

TOWELS

Q. What is the best way to wash towels?

Always wash towels in a cool/warm machine before use. Towels have been handled during manufacture and have been in a store environment and therefore may be dusty.
Always wash dark colours separately.
As towels are generally stacked on shelves the towels may also look ‘flat’ in appearance and washing will ensure the pile
regains its fluffiness.

Q. How can I avoid fading and patchy colour in my towels?

Make sure your washing powder/liquid is fully dissolved before adding your towels. This will ensure that the detergent doesn't come into direct contect with the towel fabric.
Colour towels will also benefit from using detergents designed for coloureds.
Do not use a detergent containing brighteners as brighteners only brighten whites and can seriously affect the colour of the towels.

Q. How do I keep my towels fluffy?

Limit the use of fabric conditioners on your towels. Over use will leave a coating on the fibres of your towels which will reduce the absorbency.
Do not iron towels as this will make the fibres lie flat.
Do not dry clean towels.

Q. How should I dry my towels?

Tumble drying on a medium heat will give the towels the softest finish. Drying for excessive periods at a high heat setting
will make the towels harsh. Over-drying will remove the moisture that is naturally present in the fabric, causing it to feel harsh or rough, and it may cause the fabric to become brittle and shorten the lifespan of your towel.
Alternatively, shake your towels and then dry them on a washing line, taking care not to leave towels out too long in the hot sun as the fibres will become harsh. Also excessive exposure to full sunlight will fade the colour.
Do not leave towels wet or damp in the washing machine or clothes basket as this may cause staining or mildew stains.

Q. How do I care for the colour in my towels?

Do not use bleach as it will remove the colour from your towels permanently. Take care to ensure that your towels do not come into contact with bathroom cleaners. Some facial cleaners and skin treatments contain Benzoyl Peroxide, which has the same effect as bleach.
Rinse hands and face thoroughly after using these products as the effect on the towel may not be apparent until after it has been washed.

Q. What is the best way do deal with pulled threads in towels?

Pulled threads occur when towels catch on sharp objects. Any pulled threads can simply be cut off.
Towels are woven so the threads won’t run.
